Chrissy Teigen’s plane diverted after brothers boarded flight on one pass

Two brothers who boarded a plane on one pass may be facing criminal charges after the Tuesday flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo was turned around.

The disastrous All Nippon Airways flight, which model Chrissy Teigen live tweeted, was diverted four hours after takeoff and returned to LAX after crew members discovered that one passenger had boarded without the correct pass.

Law enforcement sources told ABC that the brothers, who are both American citizens, each had tickets to Tokyo; one ticket was for ANA and the other was for United Airlines.

Both men, however, boarded Teigen’s ANA flight. They were interviewed by authorities after landing back at LAX and released, according to ABC.

The brothers have not yet been charged, but the FBI is reportedly weighing criminal charges. .

The airline could also face fines from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

ANA apologized to the customers on the flight in a statement Wednesday.

Those on flight NH175 were handed 30,000 Japanese Yen upon finally landing in Japan, according to a spokesperson for the airline.

The 30,000 converted to U.S. dollars comes out to around $265 - likely not enough to cover their flights. An individual seat on an ANA flight from LAX to Tokyo runs between $500 to $600 roundtrip, according to Google Flights.

Teigen spent the eight-hour “flight to nowhere” tweeting the ordeal.

“Like we were all just havin a great time up here flyin in the sky watching gran torino time to go home now,” she wrote.

“Why did we all get punished for this one person’s mistake? Why not just land in Tokyo and send the other person back? How is this the better idea, you ask? We all have the same questions.”
