According to a report by The Nation, scores of Lagosians on Tuesday stormed the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa which houses the Governor’s Office and the Lagos State House of Assembly demanding an immediate end to all demolitions in the state.   The protesters who came under the aegis of the Federation of Informal Workers Association of Nigeria (FIWON), frowned at what they called illegal and deliberate demolition of buildings and markets occupied by struggling people in the informal sector of the economy.   According to them, any government that fails to recognise the roles played by people in the informal sector in governance, and chooses to embark on the demolition of their houses and businesses, is sowing the seed of failure both in the short and long run.   The group which comprises mechanics, market traders, and farmers, among others, was led by the General Secretary of  FIWON, Mr Gbenga Komolafe, who accused the Lagos State government of using the state’s megacity dream

A Muslim man, Rasheed Jimoh-Ijaodola, has bagged a doctorate degree in Christian studies at the University of Ilorin. Mr. Jimoh-Ijaodola is a professor of Law and Dean, Oba Erediauwa College of Law of Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo. A statement signed by Obajide Ilugbo, Head, Public & External Relations Unit, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, made this known in Benin on Tuesday. Mr. Ilugbo said Mr. Jimoh-Ijaodola’s thesis examined biblical prophesies and other prophesies, including prophesies of Nostradamus. Five cases of monkeypox in Bayelsa State have been confirmed by the World Health Organization (WHO), Bayelsa State Commissioner of Health, Ebitimitula Etebu, announced on Monday. Mr. Etebu stressed that two of the cases confirmed by the WHO were not fresh cases, but older cases that had been unconfirmed. He allayed fears that the virus is spreading. According to him, the blood samples sent for confirmatory tests at the WHO reference laboratory in Dakar, Senegal returned in batches. The WHO had earlier confirmed three cases, so the additional two cases bring the total to five in Bayelsa State. Mr. Etebu said that the epidemic has been largely contained following the joint efforts of the state government, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and other international public health partners. via Sandra Spicy

A Nigerian man from Rivers state, Charles Ojieh and his beautiful wife Laide Ojieh have been blessed in a special way after suffering for 10 years trying to have a child.   The lovely couple have been blessed with triplets. According to a family friend, Amaka Mazi-Njoku who shared the story, God blessed the couple in an extraordinary way.     Mazi-Njoku wrote:  "Tears of Joy flowing freely, unashamedly, I say thank you Lord. The God that fetched water with a basket has done it. After 10 years, he has rewarded his children three times over. You are God all by yourself . A man, Emmanuel Nicholas, has decried the rate of attacks by Fulani herdsmen on farmers in his area.   The man who lives in Yola, Adamawa state, revealed how one of his workers in the farm was allegedly attacked by two herdsmen who forcefully stole his mobile phone.   According to the narrator, the Fulani herdsman stabbed his fellow herdsman mistakenly in an attempt to attack his victim.         Below is what was shared on Facebook;   "What Fulani/Hausa Herdsmen are doing to farmers is unprecedented. One of my workers in the farm was attacked by two Herdsmen. His Mobile Phone was forcefully snatched away. In an attempt to stabbed him, the Herdsman mistakenly stabbed his fellow Herdsman. Few days back, we nabbed two of them and handed over to Police Men. They attempt to eat up my crops. Attached is the picture of the two Herdsmen we nabbed.
