The Hamidiya #mosque Located in #Kirsehir city in central #Turkey is a building designed based on a verse of the Holy #Quran.
In recent years, it was decided that the mosque needs to be expanded as it could no longer accommodate the
growing number of worshippers.
In 2015, rebuilding the mosque began and the officials
decided to portray verse 22 of Surah al-Baqara,
calligraphed on one of the walls, in the mosque building.
The verse reads: "(He) who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know (that there is nothing similar to Him).”
A painter from the Republic of #Azerbaijan was, therefore, invited to paint trees, waterfalls, gardens and
the sky on the walls and ceiling of the building based on the content of the verse.
