"On the early hours of Friday the 30th of March, our dear Muslim sister, Leyla Mtumwa was unforgettably taken away from us by her newly wed husband. This tragedy occurred at 5am in the morning when Leyla had returned from a night out with a friend, where she then came home to a heated argument.

Out of immediate anger, he then made the dreadful choice of picking up a knife and repeatedly stabbing Leyla, resulting to giving her many incisions to the neck and chest. In the duration of this happening, their son had stood outside in the cold screaming for someone to help, now left with a terrible memory of his mother. After police and ambulance being called to the scene, they were unsuccessful in reviving Leyla as she died on the scene.

Leyla is of Tanzanian origin and this Go Fund Me page has been made to help raise money to send her body back to Arusha, Tanzania by her mother’s wishes, therefore she can be buried where her Mother and immediate family are able to grieve her closely.

Unfortunately as of now, Leyla’s body is still being held by police as part of the investigation, with that being said we would desire to send her body back home as soon as she is released. Her family is now facing unimaginable bills and cost for the next couple of months and whatever we can do please let’s dig deep in our hearts and rest this young mother, daughter, sister and friend in Arusha.

Please help us raise a minimum of £5000 to ensure that she is sent home safely. Every single donation counts and is very appreciated by all of Leyla’s friends and family. Thank you for reading and may God bless you.
