THE NIGERIAN YOUTHS ——- Ubara Obaro.

THE NIGERIAN YOUTHS

Daily beaten by rain of regret.

Daily burnt by sun of sorrow.

Daily dried by harmattan of humiliation.

Daily drowned in flood of frustration.

Still we match on…

HOPE, the only shield against d deadly arrows

         from bad blooded politicians.

         from pressure mounting parents.

         from stress swollen society.

They say the church is the only hope.

They say the mosque is the only hope.

With feeble feet,

we file in to cover our naked destinies.

And what do we see?

        Money mouthed pastors!

        Dagger drawn imams!

Oh Nigerian youths!

A people sold before they were born.

        In all these…

We match on, clad in thick coats of HOPE.
