Osun Online Poll: Accept Defeat In Good Faith, Olugbenga Akanfe Tells APC, Poll Coordinator

An Ede-born Social Commentator and a staunch member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the Osun state, Comrade Olugbenga Akanfe has charged the ruling All Progressives Congress and the convener of the just concluded Osun Online Poll who is also the coordinator of the Osun APC Media Unit, Mr. Mudashir Ayanfe to accept the outcome of the poll in good faith.

Osun PDP had floored APC in a Facebook Online Poll coordinated by Mr. Mudashir Ayanfe by polling 52% against APC's 48%.

But reacting to the defeat his party suffered, Mr. Mudashir Ayanfe had accused the PDP of  mobilizing voters other geopolitical zones of the country to participate in the poll.

In a swift reaction, Comrade Akanfe described the statement as a total embarrassment which is not palatable to human hearing.

He stated that the outcome of the poll was purely a true reflection of Osun populace and should serve as quit notice to APC in the State ahead of the September 22nd, 2018 gubernatorial election.

"The Post-Poll Statement of the Coordinator of the Online Poll who is not only a Card-Carrying Member of the APC but a Coordinator of a Unit in the Party is an embarrassment and not suitable for human hearing.

"The Outcome of the poll reflects the opinion of Osun populace to the current administration of APC in the State and as well a strong signal that the end has come to the reign of APC in the State, the outcome of the poll shows that the Aregbesola-led administration has failed integrity test among the electorate," Akanfe said.

He further stressed that the Coordinator of the poll and his party APC are to be held responsible for such act of mobilizing none indigenes of the State.

He said "there  are obvious evidences and enough proofs that Mr. Mudashir Ayanfe and his party are the ones responsible for mobilizing none indigenes for the poll to the extent of creating pseudo Facebook accounts only to accrue votes in their favour."

He cited the case of Labido Adamu, Akinola Dhikirullai, Makama Peter, and hundrends of others who are non-Indigenes of the State and pseudo accounts like Suzan Johncole, Benedict Okhafor, Muazu Abdullahi and many others that participated in the poll in favor of APC.
