Teacher arraigned in Kano for defiling his male student

A teacher in Kano state, Ali Muhammad, was arraigned before a Senior Magistrate court in Gyadi-Gyadi for allegedly defiling two of his students.



The students’ names have been given as Sulaiman Umar and Bashir Yahaya. Ali was charged with unnatural offense contrary to Section 284 of the penal code law.

Rep[orts have it that the victims’ parents reported the case to Kano state Hisbah Board sometime in 2017. Ali is said to have lured the boys into his room at Marini and forcefully had his way with them, one after the day. He later sent them off with N50 each after the act.

The accused pled guilty when the charge was read to him.

Prosecution Officer, Sergeant Shehu Adam, asked that the case be adjourned to enable police to complete its investigation.

Presiding Judge, Senior Magistrate Hadiza Abdurrahman ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody.
