Following his suspension as Fortuna Sittard coach, Sunday Oliseh has hit back at the club.
The former Nigerian skipper and coach said he is disappointed at the club for its decision since his refusal to engage in illegal practices.
Although he did not give all the details on Twitter, the ex-Super Eagles coach said the suspension is unfortunate for the fans and players.
According to a statement, Oliseh has been sidelined for what the club calls unacceptable actions and has been put on non-active duties, stopping short of saying he has been sacked.
“I confirm: Due to my refusal to participate in illegal activities at Fortuna Sittard and violate the law, I have been suspended from my duties as coach by the foreign owners of Furtuna,” said Oliseh.
“Unfortunate for the lovely fans, my players and our hard fought phenomenal positioning for promotion.”
But the Dutch second tier club Fortuna Sittard have denied the allegations
On Thursday a statement from Sittard said they would be taking legal advice and looking to sack Oliseh.
"Fortuna does not recognize itself at all in these accusations, which were not highlighted by Sunday Oliseh to the club," the club wrote on its website.
"The case will be presented by Fortuna Sittard to the arbitration committee of the KNVB (the Dutch Football Association), an independent body, which will now make an assessment of whether there is sufficient grounds to terminate the employment contract of Sunday Oliseh."
