Evening Gossip: Henry Makes Himself Available For Arsenal Job, Chelsea Lead In Race To Sign Lewandowski

Henry As Gunners' Boss?
Thierry Henry says it would be "a dream" to manage Arsenal after watching Manchester City win the EFL Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva saw City win without ever getting out of second gear as the Gunners put in a lacklustre performance at Wembley.

Fellow Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville was particularly scathing in his assessment during the game, called Arsenal a "disgrace" and the efforts of certain players "unforgivable".

Henry, who is Arsenal's all-time top scorer, worked as the club's Under-18s coach as he underwent his Uefa A Licence course before leaving in the summer of 2016 to pursue his punditry career, and is now on the Belgium coaching team.

When asked by Jamie Redknapp if replacing Arsene Wenger would appeal to him, Henry replied: “I still have a job to do with Belgium, but let’s see what’s going to happen.

"It will be a dream for me, but I’m still with Belgium.

“Interested? Yes, who wouldn’t be? But I can’t talk about that out of respect for the man that is in charge still and my job that I’m doing right now with Belgium. But who wouldn’t be interested?"

Chelsea To Sign Polish Striker
Robert Lewandowski — prized possession of German giants Bayern Munich — has itchy feet.

Robert Lewandowski is getting itchy feet at Bayern Munich and could land Chelsea move
He is flirting with the idea of playing in English football, toying with a move to the Premier League at the end of the season.

With 97 league goals in nearly four seasons at Bayern, plus another 74 in a similar timeframe at Borussia Dortmund, he has done his bit in the Bundesliga.

A fresh challenge is said to excite him. English football’s top clubs will be all over him from now on.

If Lewandowski can persuade Bayern to release him from a contract that runs to 2021 the scramble will be on. In the monied and frenzied modern era, this fella is a must-get.

Lewandowski's wife Anna was familiarising herself with London last week when she arrived on a shopping expedition.
