Court Sentences Ram Thief To 6-Months In Jail

A 30-year old man Sulaimon Awokunle has been sentenced top 6-months imprisonment by a Magistrate’s Court in Osogbo, Osun State for allegedly stealing a ram kept for Sallah by Saka Idowu. 
 Elisa Olusegun, the police prosecutor told the court that Awokunle stole the ram valued at N25, 000 at about 6am inside Onunrin’s compound in Iree.

Olusegun who pleaded guilty to the one count charge of theft pleaded for mercy. His counsel, Najite Okobe, said his client was a first time offender and urged the court to mitigate his punishment.

The Magistrate Adenike Olowolagba however sentenced him to 6-months in jail or pay a fine of N4, 000.
